Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She's an American-Mexican actress. She also sings. She was raised by her mother and her father, in USA. Raised with racial remarks and made to feel unwanted. In the 9th grade, she felt more comfortable after she was acknowledged by her teachers as a success for singing at a school's audition. This not only increased her confidence but also shifted her goals for the future. In 1992, she received her degree from New York's Julliard School. When she was 23, her first Broadway performance with Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her film debut You've Got Mail were both her big break. However her greatest breakthrough came when she appeared in the character in the role of The Lady of The Lake in the first Broadway show Spamalot garnering not only an award called the Tony Award for her performance as well as a lot of critical praise. In the following year, when she was Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC the show, she received more appreciation. Known as a singer she has also released a single as well as an extended show. In addition, she's an activist and works extensively for LGBT rights.
